Retail logistics provider Clipper has won the Impact Through Innovation award at the 2019 Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (enei) awards.
The enei is the UK’s leading employer network covering all aspects of equality and inclusion in the workplace. The Impact Through Innovation award recognises an organisation that has innovated their diversity approach, stepped away from conventional diversity initiatives ad introduced an approach that sets new standards for the promotion of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Clipper has been recognised for its far-reaching and multi-layered approach in offering opportunities to a range of individuals through their Fresh Start initiative, opening their doors to people who might otherwise have a barrier into entering the world of work. Clipper has also been recognised for their training strategy which includes its own internal 18-month graduate scheme aimed at developing the skills, knowledge and ambitions of its recruits; a driver CPC programme using state-of-the-art simulation cabs; and a degree apprenticeship programme developed in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University and the Institute of Leadership and Management.
These programmes demonstrate Clipper’s commitment to recruiting, developing and nurturing the best talent in the logistics industry. Clipper strives to support its workers at every level – from providing the best education, to supplying the tools people need to succeed. To ensure this level of personal development continues, Clipper developed Team Clipper, an initiative that celebrates the breadth and depth of knowledge and experience found across each of the Clipper sites and encourages staff to work as a team so that they can continue to deliver in line with Clipper’s brand promise of agility, ability and credibility.
