Harvey Nichols has successfully opened its seventh store in Bristol with the support of its logistics partner, Clipper 玩嘉电竞 Group. Spread over three floors and occupying 37,000 sq ft, Harvey Nichols is the anchor store for Bristol’s new Cabot Circus development in Broadmead, and will be serviced by Clipper from its existing Northampton national distribution centre (NDC).
Clipper 玩嘉电竞 Group will deliver all fashion merchandise as well as food, wine and beverages for the café and restaurant on dedicated vehicles from the Northampton NDC. Clipper has operated Harvey Nichols’ dedicated facility at Northampton since April 2005, servicing the existing Knightsbridge, Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Dublin stores. Each week, 20-30,000 units of fashion and 50-60,000 units of food and beverages are distributed to Harvey Nichols outlets. In addition to this, Clipper also handles the e-fulfilment of Harvey Nichols’ expanding “Home Shopping” operation.
Bristol has the highest number of ABC1s outside London and the fastest-growing gross domestic product in the country. It has a 3.6m catchment within an hour’s drive of the city, which is the eight-largest in the UK.
Martin Schofield, director of IT & logistics, Harvey Nichols, commented: “The new Bristol store is a slimmed down version of our Knightsbridge flagship. It has been cleverly designed to ensure best use of space and Clipper’s delivery patterns ensure that we are able to dedicate valuable space to shop floor selling rather than stock room storage. Clipper has been a reliable and trusted partner over several years now, and their support has been key to the successful launch of the new Bristol store.”
Tony Mannix, Managing Director, Clipper 玩嘉电竞 Group, explained: “Clipper delivers to all Harvey Nichols’ stores between 6:30am and 7:30am to avoid inner city congestion and minimise lead time onto selling floor. We are delighted to support Harvey Nichols’ entrance into this new city and will continue to ensure that the right products are always available in store at the right time.”
