Leading high value and retail logistics specialist Clipper 玩嘉电竞 Group has gained entry to the Sunday Times Top Track 250 of Britain’s leading mid-market private companies for the second consecutive year with an improved listing on 2009.

The improvement follows a period of significant growth and success for the Leeds-based business, which is continuing to outperform its sector. Whilst all sectors of Clipper’s core offerings have seen growth, the popularity of online retail has seen Clipper’s client base expand particularly rapidly, and since last year’s entry, it has secured new contract wins with major high street retailers John Lewis and Tesco to handle logistics for the retailers’ on-line fashion offering, as well as Americana International, Anthropologie, Mint Velvet and Aurora Fashions.

Now in its sixth year, The Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table ranks Britain’s biggest mid-market private companies, based on sales ranging from £140m and £550m. Complementing the Sunday Times Top Track 100 biggest private companies, the Top Track 250 lists the next 250 biggest firms that have high turnover and made an operating profit in their latest financial year.

Clipper’s sales grew to £164.6m by April 2009 and operating profit for the company in the year 2009 was £6.1m.

Steve Parkin, Clipper chairman, said: “Clipper’s ranking in the Top Track 250 for the second year running is extremely pleasing and is testament to the continued growth of the business. Since last year, we have secured some significant online retail accounts, which have led to Clipper increasingly becoming recognised as the leading provider of e-fulfilment solutions, and reflects the changing dynamics of today’s customers, who need reactive, quick and agile solutions, which is a perfect fit for Clipper’s agility & ability proposition. We are looking forward to further growth and expansion over the next 12 months.”
