Clipper 玩嘉电竞 Group has appointed Stewart Oades to the position of non-executive director. Oades has been a prominent and respected figure in the supply chain sector throughout his career and brings exceptional experience that will support Clipper’s ambitious pan-European and global growth plans.
Having completed the sale of Christian Salvesen to Norbert Dentressangle in December 2007, Stewart stepped down from his position as CEO and supported the integration process in a consulting capacity until September 2008.
Prior to joining Christian Salvesen in 2005, Oades was an executive board director for Exel Plc with responsibilities as UK chairman and CEO of Exel’s European retail and consumer sector. Oades’ earlier career included six years as regional logistics director for Safeway Plc, and time with Heron Distribution and SPD Group.
Stewart Oades commented: “With an average annual growth rate of more than 15% over the last seven years, one cannot fail to be impressed by Clipper’s UK operation. The company is clearly fleet of foot – unusual for an organisation of its size – and stands apart in its down to earth style, flat management structure and focused offering. I have no doubt that Clipper is capable of growing profitably in line with its ambitious strategic objectives and am delighted to be working with such an exceptional team to support this.”
Steve Parkin, Clipper 玩嘉电竞 Group founder and chairman, explained: “Our recent acquisition of the Bestaendig Group in Germany is the start of significant expansion plans – ultimately we want to have the ability to manage supply chains throughout the world. I believe that Stewart’s invaluable industry experience, insight, contacts and gravitas will be of enormous benefit to Clipper in achieving this aim; his track record is inspiring and his supply chain credentials second to none.”
Now pursuing a non-executive career path, Oades has also secured roles as chairman of wesupply, a private equity owned supply chain software company, and has joined the board of Netlog, one of Turkey’s largest logistics providers. Oades holds a number of other industry appointments including directorships of the Freight Transport Association, Transaid and GS1.
