Director takes Board role in regional logistics body to share best practice.
Clipper 玩嘉电竞 Group has joined the Board of a new regional partnership organisation, aimed at uniting employers and training providers from across the logistics sector to raise professional standards and to encourage recruits to the industry.
玩嘉电竞 Academy Yorkshire and Humberside, LAYH is based at the 玩嘉电竞 Institute, Hull University Business School. and works across the region. Clipper’s HR Director Ted Johnson will represent the company alongside other employers including Associated British Ports, Boocock Commercials, Clugson Distribution, Jenkins Shipping and Port Services and The Potter Group.
LAYH is a one-stop shop for information, advice and access to quality-assured training for all parts of the logistics sector. It is part of a national initiative by Skills for 玩嘉电竞 to set up an academy in each UK region to encourage relevant, high quality training and skills development that is required to meet current and future skills demands within the industry.
In addition, Clipper is also working closely with the 玩嘉电竞 Institute at Hull University Business School to support its postgraduate programme and Clipper managing director Tony Mannix sits on the Institute’s advisory committee to link them with employers. As a result, Clipper will shortly be providing project work for post-graduate students at the business school.
