Clipper is pleased to announce success in the technology category of the Newark Business Awards, which took place on Monday 7 th November. The leading retail logistics specialist was a finalist in the ‘Best Use of Technology to Improve Business Performance’ category at a black-tie grand final on Monday night.

The win comes thanks to the development of a cutting-edge automated system called the Auto Boxer. In-keeping with the business’s agile and effective approach to the changing dynamics of retail, the Auto Boxer is designed to improve the efficiency of the e-fulfilment process. It comprises of a system of specially constructed and configured conveyors and machinery, allowing for the more efficient packing and processing of online orders.

In operation at Clipper’s multi-user Ollerton site, the bespoke automation system enhances the processing of stock, achieving supply chain efficiencies and cost savings for client, Asda. The system meets the demands of Asda’s Click and Collect offering; it enhances the service while reducing cost and complexity, minimising physical labour and eliminating human error.

Since initiation, the system has greatly improved the supply chain solution, with customer service and satisfaction running at extremely impressive levels.
