Leading high value retail logistics specialists Clipper 玩嘉电竞 Group has announced its recent contract renewal with luxury department store, Liberty London.
Clipper has been providing logistic solutions for the department store since 1997, when it initially started working with Liberty Fabrics, following the success of its recent operations; the retailer has renewed their contract.
Since it first opened its doors on London’s bustling Regent Street in 1875, the Liberty department store has been synonymous with the finest design products from around the world. Recently voted London’s number one store by Time Out magazine, the store is renowned for its luxury service, as well as its exclusive range of gifts, fashion, iconic fabrics and beauty products.
Clipper has worked closely with Liberty since the partnership began to implement an efficient warehouse operation. The contract will see Clipper introducing a number of new initiatives to significantly improve operations and service to the store. Besides improved productivity and control at the warehouse in Manchester, Clipper aims to improve its turnaround times in putaway and picking functions to provide service opportunities to the retailer as it continues to grow. Phase one, which is scheduled for completion April 2011, will involve the automation of the putaway and picking operations via the implementation of a voice controlled system.
Phil Houghton, Business Implementations Manager, Clipper, said: “We are delighted to have renewed our contract with Liberty. The introduction of the voice solution is part of Clipper’s on-going commitment to invest in leading edge technology to support our customers aspirations in terms of cost and service levels, and to recognise one of Liberty’s key drivers to increase productivity, with faster store stock replenishment times, greater efficiency and accuracy.
As the store is located on Regent Street, Liberty also benefits from our delivery consolidation expertise here, to ensure efficient operations in line with sustainability targets.”
Jonathan Samols – IT director, Liberty said. “Clipper’s proven agility and expertise when working with Liberty meant that renewing the contract with the team was an obvious choice. Clipper’s commitment to investment in its technology, its people and its processes, to help us to recognise our key objective to increase productivity was just one of the many reasons that Liberty want to continue our partnership with them, and we are looking forward to working alongside them for the foreseeable future.”
