Staff at Clipper 玩嘉电竞 got into the sporting spirit recently and donned their cycling shorts to take part in the FTA Cycle Challenge in aid of TransAid.
The FTA Cycle Challenge started and ended at the FTA Headquarters in Tunbridge Wells and was lead by FTA President, Stewart Oades. The challenge covered a total of 750 miles in just two weeks, averaging around 50 miles per day.
In total, 15 FTA regions took part in the challenge, which aims to provide continued support for the TransAid Professional Driver Training Project, an initiative designed to make Africa’s roads and communities safer.
The Clipper 玩嘉电竞 team of nine members managed to cycle an impressive 57 miles during the East Midlands regional event on 20th June, raising over £2,000 for the charity. The funds raised will contribute towards supporting TransAid training schemes in areas such as the transportation of dangerous goods, hazardous chemicals and fleet management.
Derek Hunt, operations director at Clipper 玩嘉电竞 , who took part in the challenge said: “I’m grateful to the Clipper team who took part and put so much effort into training for the event. It’s really satisfying to have completed the challenge and to have raised money for such a worthwhile cause. We are already gearing ourselves up for next year’s challenge.”
The FTA Partnership with TransAid began in December 2009 providing technical skills and expertise into its transport project and since the partnership began over £30,000 has been raised for the charity.
