Clipper has secured a major multichannel fulfilment contract with FTSE250 listed fashion retailer, SuperGroup . The contract was awarded to the Leeds based retail logistics specialist following a competitive tender process.

The long term agreement will see Clipper service the contract from a new 500,000sqft facility in Burton-on-Trent, and handle the full range of multichannel distribution solutions for SuperGroup ’s brands, which include Superdry and Cult. The contract will also support SuperGroup’s on-going expansion plans, with logistics services for both online and in-store operations in the UK and mainland Europe.

The Burton-on-Trent site will be operated by Clipper, and is ideally located close to a number of main parcel carrier hubs allowing for late cut-offs into the networks. It is expected circa 200 jobs will be created at the new facility..

Ideally located, SuperGroup will have a highly efficient UK distribution centre, enabling the Group to generate both financial and operational benefits and provide a platform for us to meet the increasing demands of e-fulfilment.”

Steve Parkin, Chairman of Clipper added: “Clipper’s response to the brief demonstrated that we have both the capability and agility needed to support SuperGroup’s multichannel growth plans and we look forward to building a strong working partnership with them.”

The new distribution centre will allow SuperGroup to build on recent expansion, and the operating capacity will support further growth plans. SuperGroup operates over 100 UK and European standalone Superdry stores, and their garments are sold in 54 countries worldwide via a network of franchise and licensed stores.

This long-term contract adds to the impressive list of retail clients Clipper works alongside. Clipper employs more than 3000 people and is regarded as one of the UK’s leading multichannel logistics providers.
