Clipper, the UK’s leading retail and high value logistics provider, is proud to have been shortlisted in the Best Green Service Innovation category at the International Green Awards 2011.
The much-anticipated awards will take place at the Natural History Museum in London on 24th November and will be attended by influencers, leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators from across the globe.
Launched in 2006 to critical acclaim, the awards were designed to recognise strategies that use creativity in an engaging and effective manner, leading to more sustainable outcomes. The Awards are now an established event on the global sustainable business agenda.
The Best Green Service Innovation Award, for which Clipper is shortlisted, recognises initiatives that incorporate genuine sustainability benefits whilst meeting consumers’ needs for services. The service must demonstrate sustainability through the entire supply chain providing tangible benefits in a way that lowers any negative impact that may be embodied in providing the service.
Clipper has been recognised for its Freight Consolidation Centre initiatives, for Regent Street, Meadowhall and Tyne And Wear, which offer practical and environmental solutions to shopping and town centre congestion. The Consolidation Centres take delivery of retailers stock to a secure local out base away from the congested area and apply value added pre-retailing services. The individual deliveries are then consolidated into a single route for all retailers, eliminating multiple freight journeys into the congested area.
