Clipper, the specialist retail logistics provider, has added a new and innovative service to its client offering, with the opening of a new ebay store. Genesis-UK operates on the popular ebay site in order to assist retail customers with the disposal of in season excess stock, and end of season clearance lines.
The store has been created to offer an outlet for any non-food or clothing product category, during its trial phase the store has offered toys and clothing. Genesis-UK has already enjoyed considerable success. Since the site first started trading at the end of summer 2012, the operation has achieved ‘top rated seller’, a ‘platinum powerseller’ and had over 15,000 positive feedbacks. Clipper is one of only a very small number of ‘ebay full service providers’ operating in this space. The service can either be provided under the retailer’s own logo, or can be at ‘arms length’ under the Genesis logo – providing a flexible alternative.
The new service takes advantage of Clipper’s expertise in e-fulfilment solutions and adds a new dimension to the retail focussed services offered to existing and new customers. The offering compliments existing solutions which range from portcentric logistics, multichannel solutions, and retail consolidation, alongside retail warehousing/transport. Having set up online fulfilment operations for high street giants such as Asda, John Lewis and Tesco, the company is perfectly placed to bring this new proposition to market.
Tony Mannix, Managing Director of Clipper, commented: “We saw a need within our customer base for a solution to manage excess stock. As a forward thinking specialist retail logistics provider, we were able to use the skills we’ve developed over the years to bring this exciting new proposition quickly to market to compliment our other services. Our strong pedigree in e-fulfilment of general merchandising and clothing is complimented by our proven abilities in product reprocessing and packing. The solution via ebay adds yet another dimension to the Clipper offering. With over 20 years of retail experience, and as a leader in multichannel logistics, this seems like a natural progression for the company.”
