Clipper delivered a showcase of industry insight and expertise at the latest instalment in its acclaimed Future Forum events series. Entitled, ‘Retail Focused Click and Collect: The New Model’ , Clipper’s fourth Future Forum brought together some of the brightest minds in retail, logistics, and IT, and provided a platform for valuable knowledge and innovative ideas to be shared.

The event, which took place at the beginning of this month at the Cumberland Hotel in London’s Marble Arch, focused on the challenges of click and collect in today’s fast-evolving retail landscape. Click and collect forms the primary channel to customers for many retailers, and industry heavyweights came together to discuss the challenges, solutions and innovations of the future.

The event was attended by a list of high-profile retailers from the likes of Bon Marche, Crew Clothing, Hobbycraft, Mint Velvet and New Look, and featured a number of expert keynote speakers who explored the many elements of the click and collect process. Clipper CEO, Tony Mannix, headed up the event, introducing the unique service proposition developed by Clipper for the John Lewis Partnership, and detailing how the business is taking on the future challenges of the sector. Speakers from retail giant John Lewis, leading parcel and carrier management company GFS, mobile technology solutions firm M-Netics, and software and consultancy experts JDA followed, with insights from across the click and collect network.

The afternoon was a great opportunity to further cement Clipper’s standing as the market leader within retail logistics. This event emphasised the fast-advancing technology that forms the backbone of click and collect, and how integration, visibility and communication are becoming more and more essential for both retailers and customers. Boomerang, the unique, closed-loop returns solution from Clipper, was also highlighted, with the move towards enhanced efficiency and more information for customers as a key focus throughout.

Tony was keen to emphasise the rapid advancement of retail, and how Clipper has risen to meet that demand. “Our 2016 Future Forum was a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable insight and create a connected vision of the state of play for click and collect solutions, both for today and tomorrow. Clipper is leading the way for logistics both in the UK and Europe, and I’m thrilled at the quality of content and discussion at this year’s event.”

A full report of the event is currently being compiled, and will form an insightful guide to the themes discussed at the event. To register interest in attending the next in our series of Future Forums, please email Johanna Ogilvie: jogilvie@clippergroup.co.uk .
