Fashion logistics expert, Clipper, has been appointed to provide a comprehensive returns management service for online fashion retailer, ASOS . The contract will see Clipper accept and process millions of returned clothing every year, from ASOS customers across the UK and Europe.
The operation will be based at Clipper’s e-fulfilment centre of excellence site in Selby, and will be responsible for the unpacking, quality-checking and repatriation of stock for re-sale, of items that have been receipted from ASOS customers throughout Europe. Following an interim solution whereby Clipper stepped up to the mark throughout summer 2013, ASOS have appointed Clipper as the partner to manage returns activity.
ASOS sells clothing in 190 countries worldwide, with 64% of sales coming from outside of the UK. Clipper will use its expertise in fashion, returns, and European logistics handling, to deliver a flexible solution to the retailer, while helping to deliver a cost effective service.

Throughout the contract, there will be an emphasis to return non-faulty goods back into the retail supply chain as quickly as possible, a unique challenge in the fast paced world of fashion retail.

The Clipper returns management process will manage this seamlessly, and ensure ASOS customers continue to experience a best in class service.”
The returns operation for ASOS will be carried out at the existing Clipper shared-user site in Selby, North Yorkshire, and will mean up to 250 jobs created to facilitate the contract. The solution will take up a 30,000 sq ft footprint at the Selby site, with an additional 15,000 sq ft mezzanine. There is also the capacity for further expansion as required.
