Leading high value and retail logistics specialist Clipper 玩嘉电竞 Group has gained entry to this year’s Sunday Times Top Track 250 of Britain’s biggest mid-market private companies.
The listing follows a period of significant growth and success for the Leeds-based business, which is continuing to outperform its sector, with a mixture of organic and acquisitive growth. The popularity of online retail has seen Clipper’s client base expand and Clipper is increasingly becoming recognised as the leading provider of e-fulfilment solutions.
Now in its fifth year, The Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table ranks Britain’s biggest mid-market private companies, based on sales in their latest available audited accounts. Complementing the Sunday Times Top Track 100 biggest private companies, the Top Track 250 lists the next 250 biggest firms that have increased turnover and made an operating profit in their latest financial year.
Clipper’s sales grew to £153.4m in 2008. Operating profit for the company in the year to April 2008, was £6.2m.
Steve Parkin, Clipper chairman, said: “Clipper’s ranking in the Top Track 250 is a significant milestone for us and is testament to the ongoing growth of the business. Since our acquisition of Beständig Group in January this year, we have expanded our European operations, which will continue to be a focus for us moving forward. Developments in portcentric logistics represent another key growth area for Clipper and we are working closely with the industry to raise awareness of its potential.
“It’s heartening to see that, despite the downturn, there are businesses that are continuing to perform well and we are looking forward to further growth and expansion over the next 12 months.”
